Nature conservation on vacation – new offers to get involved in the national natural landscapes - ECOCAMPS

Nature conservation on vacation - New offers to get involved in the national natural landscapes Enjoying nature while protecting it at the same time - that's what current voluntourism offers from the Wadden Sea to the Black Forest offer. Individual and group travelers as well as families promote biological diversity at their vacation destination through their practical involvement in a large protected area.

In the 2023 holiday season, two national parks, a nature park and a biosphere reserve in attractive German holiday regions await their guests with new voluntourism offers: Here, individual travelers, families as well as participants in package tours can discover natural treasures, get to know regional highlights and at the same time support nature conservation experts in their work . The committed holiday guests are making a concrete contribution to protecting and promoting biological diversity in Germany. For example, during daytime missions in the Southern Black Forest Nature Park, helping hands are welcome to support the Feldberg forester in repairing paths and footbridges.

This protects the low mountain vegetation along the way from being stepped on. In the Müritz National Park, travelers on a package tour provide valuable support for moor protection by closing drainage ditches. The Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve offers both a one-week package tour with nature conservation activities included and one-day activities for self-organized guests in the region: planting trees, mowing orchid meadows or building nesting boxes are some of the offers for committed people. At the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park, it's time to roll up your sleeves for dune protection, put protective covers around young oak trees and remove the non-native cranberry plant to benefit native cranberries and sundews.

The project “Voluntourism for biological diversity in national natural landscapes” is run by the umbrella organization National Natural Landscapes. V. carried out together with project partners.

The project partners include the Müritz National Park Office, the Biosphere Reserve Middle Elbe Support and Landscape Conservation Association. V., the Wadden Sea Protection Station e. V., the Southern Black Forest Nature Park e. V., ECOCAMPING Service GmbH and B

UND-Reisen/Travel Center at Stresemannplatz GmbH & Co. KG. The project is funded in the Federal Biological Diversity Program by the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation with funds from the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection.
