Mietcaravan.com was founded in 2002 in the Netherlands by a camping-loving family. You can now look back on more than 25 years of camping experience . When looking for a campsite, they say, you quickly notice that when you browse through the usual travel guides and portals, you can often find the same campsites in the different directories. Even during your vacation you only see the same providers at the same campsites.
Mietcaravan.com decided early on not to become a tour operator. Instead, they want to offer an independent overview of quality campsites with accommodation options. They link directly to the campsite websites and give the campsite owners full control over the bookings . This way you can offer the advertising at a fair price.
Virginie and Ruud run the website together with their son Robert. The portal has a long history of online promotion of campsites and organizations across Europe. It all started with the Dutch website huurtent.nl, which entered the German market in 2008. And later on the Flemish (huurtent.be) and British markets (rentamobilehome.co.uk).
