Which camper hasn't experienced this : whether it's a cuddly toy, summer trousers or air mattress - some things have served their purpose at the end of the holiday and end up in the trash. Kamp Kovačine in Croatia has a much better idea. At the site, which has been awarded a prize by Ecocamping, usable items don't end up in the trash, but are given a second chance at the so-called "recycling point", which consists of three strategically placed tables. Here, guests leave all the products that they no longer need but can still be used. Cuddly toys, inflatable rubber animals, books, clothing or even refrigerators are waiting there for a new home. And they get that from other guests who don't have to buy these things again.
The idea is as compelling as it is simple and good . It is possible that campers could also initiate such an initiative at their campsite. The success at Kamp Kovačine is impressive.

Sustainability at its finest: Tina Gams-Fučić from Kamp Kovačine estimates that up to 300 products change hands every day. And she asks herself: "How many products have we saved from being thrown away?"
The camp is open eight months a year, which means that the "recycling point" is active 240 days. Tina Gams-Fučić continues her calculations: "If we assume that the maximum number of 300 products is exchanged every day, we arrive at an impressive number: 300 products x 240 days = 72,000 products."
One idea, several advantages:
Reduce waste: Every product that is replaced instead of ending up in landfill helps reduce overall waste.
Promote sustainability: Campers become more aware of the importance of recycling and reusing, which has a positive long-term impact on the environment.
Thinking Community: This initiative encourages interaction between campers and creates a sense of community and sharing.
Joy : Campers find useful products at no extra cost. That's certainly a reason to be happy.
Thank you for the great Kamp Kovačine initiative!
