The idea is compelling, but still in its pioneering phase: a mini camper pulled by an e-bike. The Spezi shows that new and more sophisticated models are coming to market.
The Alpine Camper
The Alpine Camper from a Swiss manufacturer is lightweight, fully insulated with a three-centimeter-thick layer, and a new version can be extended by 50 centimeters at the sides, allowing two people to sleep in the mini camper. This eliminates a disadvantage of mini campers, which, due to their width of less than one meter, can only accommodate one person. The laterally expandable Alpine Camper can therefore also be used by two people and in sub-zero temperatures.
Bicycle caravan Martha
The Martha bicycle caravan consists of an aluminum cabin insulated with two centimeters of Styrofoam on the walls and ceiling and a one-centimeter X-trem insulator. The walls and ceiling are covered with cork. Martha mobile rolls easily on narrow paths, has ample ground clearance, and fits through many barriers. The luggage space can be expanded with plastic boxes inside and on the railing outside. Three porthole windows, a panoramic window, and a hinged roof hatch ensure plenty of light inside the bicycle caravan.
The i:woody
The i:woody mini camper has taken a leap forward in development. The bicycle camper is handcrafted and made almost entirely of wood. The i:woody is now available with an overrun brake, photovoltaics, and a pre-installation for a dry, separate toilet and washing unit from BOXIO. The camper also features a professional camping door.
